The obturator passes more easily than a blunt plunger through soft tissue or into the joint capsule. The side-opening feature allows the grafter to remain in place while the graft is loaded from the 4mm bone grafter into the side opening. The plunger replaces the obturator in the side loading bone grafter and pushes the graft fragments to the acceptor site.
